There is very much military history content online. These are some resources that I find interesting and useful.

Websites ​

If you have an interest in WW2 history, I recommend the site Project'44 the road to liberation. Their interactive WWII web maps and story maps are excellent.

Dr. Leo Niehorster's site World War II Armed Forces — Orders of Battle and Organizations is also very interesting. The site gives very much data.

HyperWar, A hypertext history of the second world war has a large collection of documents, maps, photographs and other material about the war. You can browse the resources by country, by theater of war, or by service branch.

U-boat Archive is an excellent resource about submarine warfare in WW2. The site has much data. It includes U-boat war diaries with related KMZ files, charts and photographs.

If you have an interest in Cold War history, look at Hans Boersma's site Netherlands Armed Forces ORDER OF BATTLE 1985. It is very good. The site gives data about the orders of battle, the equipment and the organization of the NATO and Warsaw Pact armed forces in the Cold War.

Naval-History.net gives much data about the history of the Royal Navy. The site also has an online version of Gordon Smith's book BATTLE ATLAS of the FALKLANDS WAR 1982 by Land, Sea and Air. This book is one of the sources for the main demo scenario of ORBAT Mapper.

The Battle Order website has much detailed content about ORBATs, TO&Es, tactics, logistics and more.
